Ms. Cooke is a certified dementia care specialist (C.D.S) and provides the following:

  • Guidance to families about behavioral challenges associated with dementia

  • Ms. Cooke also works with a network of neurologists, neuro psychologists, and psychiatrists who treat people living with dementia.

  • Helping locate and access valuable dementia education and support services

  • Bringing a person-focused and local perspective to improve the elder's quality of life to live well with dementia

  • Facilitating social engagements and activities to promote overall well-being

  • Managing and providing oversight of local resources your elder may need

Get To Know Theresa Cooke

As a proud fourth-generation Nevadan, I earned my certificate and a minor in Gerontology in 2017 from the University of Nevada, Reno. Additionally, I am a certified dementia care specialist (C.D.S) from Healthcare International Inc. My Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification was obtained from TMCC, where the primary emphasis was on elder care in hospitals and nursing home settings. The Gerontology program at UNR is dedicated to fostering person-centered care for the elderly, and my certification in dementia training has significantly contributed to the mission of Cooke Elder Navigation.
